"My paintings are about the elements in nature, space, light and colour. I would collect my images from visual vocabulary, which are subtle sensuous and calm. My thought process is to work towards a celebration of nature." He captures the heavenliness of native landscapes in various hues, focusing on the landscapes & ‘forest scape’, sensitively and consistently. Each and every work appears to record different shades of the beauty of nature that lies around him- as if an act of homage and an expression of gratitude. There exists luminosity and an enchantment that seduces the onlooker. The translucence of colors and an exuberance of forms treated with an almost microscopic clarity are the distinctive features of his work. There is something idealistic and dreamy about the manner in which this artist chooses the colors he will use, the way in which they are combined and finally just how they will be applied to the surface. Surya Prakash's images have come a long way since the initial takeoff of his artistic career. Today their principal concern and influence is the artists personal perception of nature. He makes no attempt to ascribe meaning to his paintings, even refraining from titling them, though like catalysts they entice and engage the viewer to experience nature. The national exhibitions of the 70s and 80s made Surya Prakash a well-known name in the Indian art scene.
