The exhibit depicts the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in Ahmedabad and is the perfect choice for Singh's expression of 'The Tree of Life'. The Sidi Saiyyed Jali is an Islamic version of the Kalpavriksh from Hindu and Buddhist mythologies. It is a symbol of the fusion of two cultures, ideas and themes. It is synonymous with Charnajeet's style of creating visual amalgamations on the canvas. The artist seeks to dedicate the work as an ode to his passion for history and love for Mughal miniature art. Singh has spent his formative years in the city of Baroda. He has a special affinity with the banyan tree which can be found all over the city. The myriad depictions of birds in the work reflects the various sounds and sights from his memories of the banyan tree, which is very close to his heart.
