Art is the right admixture of the tools & material used by an artist/designer, or a composer to create an elegant piece of work! Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, Printmaking, are all different forms of art. However the term also indicates “Art Medium”.“Medium” also plays an important role in the execution of an artist's work. Modern artists such as Pablo Picasso and Marcel Duchamp, have established that art can be made of any material. And so the media of modern art has evolved in that sense. They have ranged from found/miscellaneous materials/objects of different kinds, to the human bodies including artist’s own body as well. A material either a simple color or a found object becomes an artists medium. It transforms into a visual language which is a language of the artist . Many modern art works and contemporary art are made from a variety of such media. "Ashtabhuji" ( Octagon) art show is exploring eight such media by Sixteen artists and how simple mediums transform into a visual spectrum of art ."Ashtabhuji " is showcasing conventional medium like water color for painting, or bronze for sculpture and non conventional mediums like twigs, old books and tree barks.
